Thor's Hammer 5k, 10k & 1/2 Marathon First Aid & Comm - Spring 2015Thor's Hammer at Heavener Runestone State Park is one of Eastern Oklahoma's premier 5K / 10K / Half-Marathon Events. The course is rugged with an overall 500 foot change in elevation over semi-rough terrain from start to finish. The course extends along two ridges into a deep ravine known as "Thor's Hammer", and winds deep into the beautiful Kiamichi Mountain's surrounding Heavener, OK. - The LeFlore Co MRC Unit will be deploying our MART Team Medical Aid Station Support Trailer & Inflateable Shelter as well as our Command Post Communications Support Resources. We will be staffing a Fully Equipped Medical Aid Station as well as Multiple First-Aid Check Points along the course for participants and event support personnel. Our Communications Unit, which is part of our LOCS Team, will be staffing and providing all command post communications as well as communications at each of the Check-Points thoughout the course. Our Field Admin Unit will be setting up and staffing a Volunteer Reception Center managing all volunteer Staging, Assignment, Tracking, and Personnel Management duties. - Please Sign up on one of the shift times below. If you are unable to work an entire shift, please let us know by sending an email or text to the address below and we will match you and another volunteer together to make sure your assignment is covered. - Available assignments range from staffing at the Medical Aid station(both Medical and Non-Medical Volunteers) to Staffing the Event Command Post, Volunteer Staging / Tracking Center, Handing Out Water to Runners, and Staffing Check-points along the race course to help with race participant tracking and medical support.(both Medical and Non-medical Volunteers). - There is an assignment for every ability level and volunteer skill level.
