Description:
Psychological First Aid is the "acute intervention of choice" when responding to the psychosocial needs of children, adults, and families affected by disaster and terrorism. Developed by the National Child Traumatic Stress Network and the National Center for PTSD, with contributions from other individuals involved in coordinating and participating in disaster response, Psychological First Aid is designed to reduce the initial distress caused by traumatic events and to foster short- and long-term adaptive functioning and coping.

Location will be on the 2nd floor in Room 211. Signs will be posted to help you locate the room.

Parking is free with validation. Please bring your gate ticket with you to class.

Registration will be from 0830 to 0900.  Training will begin at 0900.  Lunch will be on your own from 12 - 1 pm. 

We are currently seeking approval for six hours of Continuing Education credit for mental health professionals (LPC and LMFT). Six hours of continuing education credit has been approved for RN, LCSW and CLEET volunteers (CLEET credit includes 1 hour of ethics). This training meets the continuing education requirements for Clinical Psychologists. 

The University of Oklahoma Fran and Earl Ziegler College of Nursing is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Continuing Nursing Education Group, an accredited approver American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
