Description: The purpose of this course is to teach MRC volunteers the basics of using two way radios that could be used during a public event or in the immediate area at a disaster scene. Radio etiquette and a demonstration of best practices will be included. This course will also cover smart phone apps that provide radio-like communications.
The instructor for this course will be Lucien Jones, a long-time MRC volunteer who recently retired from the City of Oklahoma City as the 911 center manager. Lucien was with the City of Oklahoma City for a total of 43 years, spending some of his career with the Oklahoma City Police Department.
