In the event of a public health emergency or disaster, Point of Dispensing (POD) sites will be activated in order to provide medication, vaccine and/or medical supplies to the healthy community prior to the onset of illness. In doing so, we will decrease illness and prevent death. The ultimate goal of a POD is to provide these items to a large population in a short period of time. In order to accomplish this goal, we need individuals trained and well-versed in their roles.
Scope: Training & Full scale exercises at Point of Dispensing (POD) 4 hours training (AM) + 4 hours exercise (PM)
What: Basic POD Operations Training Date: Wednesday, May 31, 2017 Location: Owasso POD Address: Exact address will be sent to those volunteers that are participating in this training. Time: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm POD Training will be provided in the morning and the exercise will occur in the afternoon. Basic POD Operations requires both medical and non-medical individuals to fill assignments. |
