Description:
Experience in recent Oklahoma disaster deployments has shown that there are not enough OKMRC SRT members who are trained and equipped to take on the role of Team Leader. The Team Leader role is crucial and without sufficient leaders, the effectiveness of the mission is seriously negatively impacted. With a greater number of trained Team Leaders, it is believed that both the efficacy and number of deployed teams during a disaster would increase. This course is taught by Stress Response Team leaders. Previous Psychological First Aid training is recommended. Purpose: To share with you what we learned about how to be a MRC Disaster Team Leader Goal: To train you in the special skill set of disaster team leadership, including knowledge of administrative procedures, legal and ethical responsibilities, role and interface of other agencies active in disaster and the use of special equipment & techniques.
