The Disaster Vaccination Team Training will prepare OKMRC Registered Nurses to participate in the Tulsa County Vaccine Strike Team. The purpose of forming and training a team is to have OKMRC nurses available to supplement health department staff for vaccinations. Examples of events when OKMRC nurses might assist health departments include tetanus vaccination after tornadoes, MCM vaccination in POD operations, influenza vaccination, Hepatitus A vaccination during floods, and perhaps back to school childhood vaccinations. 

Completion of the Nip-it Modules before this class is strongly encouraged. www.nip-it.org (Nursing Initiative Promoting Immunization Training). Bring copies of your Certificate of Completion to the class and you will receive 6.0 free Continuing Education credit hours for completing the Nip-It modules ahead of class. Please do not pay on the nip-it website! This credit is FREE to OKMRC volunteers!

This classroom training has been approved for 4.0 credit hours for Registered Nurses. The University of Oklahoma Fran and Earl Ziegler College of Nursing is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Western Multi-State Division, an accredited approver American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

Training will be held in Room 200 at the Tulsa Health Department James O. Goodwin Health Center, 5051 S 129th E Ave, Tulsa, OK 74134.

Please park in the main parking lot at the north end of the building.
