Description:
The OKMRC is offering CERT training for OKMRC volunteers. While we will not be creating separate CERT team, the training is valuable for all volunteers. It is a physically demanding training, classified as a level three on a five point scale, that includes basic disaster response skills: fire safety, including the use of Portable Fire Extinguishers; light search and rescue, including practicing levering and cribbing. Participants gain confidence in their ability to lift objects in order to extract victims, team organization, and disaster medical operations.

Additional Information:

The Community Emergency Response Training (CERT) program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills. Using CERT training individuals can, increase their level of personal disaster preparedness, assist others in their neighborhood, workplace, church or school following an event until professional responders arrive on scene.

This course will be held on Saturdays for 3 weeks in April.  Students MUST attend all three sessions in order to complete the course.  Classes will be held 9:00 am - 5:00 pm on the following dates:
