Description:
The requirements for becoming a Bleeding Control Course instructor are completion of this course and attendees must have one of the following credentials/titles: • MD, DO, RN, CRNA, NP, PA, DDS, DMD, DVM, PharmD, Pharmacist, LVN, LPN, RD, RT, PT, OT, DCM, DPM Paramedic, EMT, EMR/First Responder, Sworn Law Enforcement Officer, Ski Patrol, Athletic Trainer, TCCC-MP Instructor (both actively practicing and retired Instructors are eligible to be instructors), and TECC Instructor An associate instructor may teach in a course under the direct supervision of a Bleeding Control instructor. Associate instructors are identified by those that are already enrolled as a student in the approved categories. When an associate instructor graduates or gains certification in their discipline, they will be transitioned into this role directly without having to repeat the instructor course.

Stop the Bleed Train the Trainer Course

Are you a medical professional?  Have you ever wanted to help prepare your community to deal with bleeding emergencies?  If so, this is the class for you!  Come learn how to be a Stop the Bleed Trainer for OKMRC.  We would love to have you on our training team!  You must hold a valid license (EMR or above) in good standing to be a trainer for this course. 

Studies have shown that the help given by an immediate responder can often make the difference between life and death, even before professional rescuers arrive. The Bleeding Control Basics Course gives participants the necessary tools to become an empowered initial responder.

This course is designed to be a trainer to train individuals on what to do as an immediate responder in a bleeding emergency and covers the ABCs of bleeding as a method to stop an active bleed. The course includes a class presentation and hands-on skills demonstration on tourniquet application, wound packing, and pressure application.
