Tulsa County Humane Emergency Animal Response Team Activation

The Tulsa County Humane Emergency Animal Response Team (HEART) has been requested by the Dept. of Ag to assist the Spavinaw Police Chief (Mayes County) with a hoarding situation with 60 dogs, 20 puppies and a few cats that could be visually identified in the dark, potentially more that were not readily visible. Spavinaw does not have the infrastructure to remove the animals and will need our assistance to remove, house and care for these animals. We anticipating this being a large activation and would like assistance from the Statewide Animal Response Team (SART). Beginning Tuesday 12/11, we will be working 8 AM to 6 PM. Volunteers are needed, even if they can only work for part of a shift.(Let us know when you will be there in the notes when you sign up) The animals will be transported and cared for at the HEART Pet Transport Hub at 11908 S. 33rd West Ave., Sapulpa. Dates: December 11 Times: 8:00 am - 6:00 pm Location: HEART Pet Transport Hub Address: 11908 S. 33rd West Ave., Sapulpa, OK Directions: The HEART Pet Transport Hub is 1.5 miles West of Highway 75 on 121st St. Turn North on 33rd West Ave. The property is on the West side of 33rd. Please wear you OKMRC shirt, closed toed shoes and comfortable clothing. In addition, please dress for the weather as we may be outside for extended periods of time.
