OKC: COVID-19 Response: Alternate Care Homeless Shelter

Mar 30 2020

UPDATE: Changes are being made to the best way to support the homeless community in OKC during the rapidly changing situation. This event will be updated when new plans are finalized. Watch your e-mail and check back here to sign up to help. Until then, DO NOT DEPLOY to the West Town Day Shelter. OKMRC volunteers have been requested to provide support for the COVID-19 response for Alternate Care Homeless Shelters across OKC. The purpose of these shelters are to allow for social distancing, screening, and care for one of our most vulnerable populations. There is an URGENT need for medical and non-medical volunteers. If you have the capacity to volunteer for this response please consider doing so. Please note that the PPE that will be provided by the shelter are cloth masks and gowns. Please know that there is a possible risk of exposure to COVID-19 without proper precautions. For further questions please refer to your e-mail regarding this event or email dominique_baradaran@occhd.org or LezlieC@health.ok.gov
