De-Escalation Training in Lawton

OKMRC Volunteers are invited to attend a very interesting and timely training on De-Escalation. The training will be held on Friday 12-16-22 from 0830-1000 hours at the Comanche CHD Training room, 1010 SW Sheridan in Lawton. Objectives: • Define and discuss anger, aggression, and violence • Identify how anger, aggression, and violence can be increased or decreased in client encounters • Practice techniques to self-calm when someone is increasing in aggression • Describe signs of escalation in client scenarios • Contrast responses that make the situation more/less escalated • Role play debriefing strategies following an escalation incident • Examine current organizational policies with a goal to create ones that help to prevent/respond to escalation Sponsored by OKMRC Stress Response Team Instructor: Loren Stein, MSN, RNC-NIC More information: Billy Sizemore billy.sizemore@health.ok.gov or Rebecca Villa-Winsett, rebeccaw@health.ok.gov Wear your OKMRC t-shirt!
