Kiowa County - Mountain View Water Outage Response

The City of Mountain View (population 795) is currently experiencing a serious water main break that has left the entire city without water since Tuesday, May 2nd. Residents over 65 years of age comprise 25% of the population, and many are homebound and/or frail. The City of Mountain View/Kiowa EM/Mountain View Chief of Police have requested OKMRC to assist with the following duties: • Assist with filling up 5 gallon buckets and other non-potable receptacles for residents at the drive up water station • Assist with filling up potable water receptacles for drive up water station • Assist with dispensing bottled/canned water at drive-up water station • Assist with driving through targeted/mapped areas dispensing water to elderly/disabled/residents without transportation • Assist with answering phone calls at City Hall when City staff is otherwise assigned.
