REMOTE AREA MEDICAL Clinic in Weatherford

Hello OKMRC Volunteers!

OKMRC volunteers have been requested to assist at the RAMOK free dental and health event on July 13-14 in Weatherford at the Pioneer Cellular Event Center, 900 N. 7th Street, on the SWOSU campus.

  • Nursing/Medical volunteers will assist physicians with medical assessment and treatment
  • Non-medical volunteers will assist with administrative/crowd control/parking/registration type activities

Our OKMRC volunteers will most likely be split up by discipline, and shifts are determined by the RAMOK Event Coordinator. The event Coordinator will try to work with OKMRC to keep volunteers together as much as possible. The current shifts available for MEDICAL or GENERAL SUPPORT are all day from 5:15 am to 6 pm.  Although I understood there could be shorter shifts once you register.

I know this is a big commitment. It is a huge event that could potentially provide free health care to thousands of people. If you would like to help, please email Rebecca at rebeccaw@health.ok.gov or call/text 580-682-1572. You will also need to sign up at the RAMUSA link (see below). You will provide them your t-shirt size (and wear their t-shirt.) I have ball caps for us to identify OKMRC – if it is convenient or appropriate for you to wear it. When registering, you be asked whether or not you are interested in working overseas or outside the state – just respond no until you get towards the bottom and you have the option of signing up for the Weatherford event. Also, there is a place for employment – please enter your employment and add OKMRC at the end. If you not employed, just enter OKMRC.

I hope you are able to assist!

I will keep in contact with you throughout the process smiley
