American Indian Exposition in Anadarko

Hello OKMRC Volunteers!

The 2019 American Indian Exposition will be held Wednesday August 14th through Saturday August 17th, at the Caddo County Fairgrounds in Anadarko, Oklahoma. It is one of the oldest and largest intertribal gatherings in the United States. The Exposition features a week-long program of dance contests, parades, pageants (Indian Princess, Beautiful Baby), and arts and crafts contests. The fairgrounds also provides camping accommodations for the participants.

OKMRC is participating in its 8th year to staff the Western Shelter Cooling/Hydration/First Aid Station. We need both medical and non-medical volunteers to distribute iced water bottles and provide first aid to tribal dancers and fair participants.

If you are interested in signing up for one or more shifts, please email Rebecca at rebeccaw@health.ok.gov or call/text 580-682-1572.

Wednesday 8-14-19; Thursday 8-15-19; Friday 8-16-19; Saturday 8-17-19

We are also looking for volunteers to help set up the Western Shelter (insulated tent with A/C) at 9 am on Wednesday 8-14-19 and taking down the Western Shelter on Sunday 8-18-19 at 9 am.
