The Armed Forces Day Music Festival and Red Dirt BBQ is a free community event honoring our men and women in uniform past and present! The event is set for Saturday May 20, 2017 from noon until 11:30 pm in Elmer Thomas Park in Lawton, Oklahoma.

The day's events are free and open to the public which includes live music, a car show, a BBQ competition, kid's events, bounce houses, a zip line, fireworks show and more.  OKMRC Medical and non-medical volunteers are requested to provide:

  • 2 medical and 2 non-medical Staff and supplies for First Aid from 12 noon to 6 pm
  • Pop-up tent, table and chairs for the First Aid Tent
  • We will also take this opportunity to recruit new OKMRC members

We have 2 three-hour shifts:

12 noon to 3 pm

3 pm to 6 pm

If we have enough volunteers, we will provide roving medical strike teams throughout the park

This sounds like a wonderful event and this is our first year to participate. Please email Rebecca at or call/text 580-682-1572 if you are interested in assisting. Additional logistic information will be sent to you.

As always, our OKMRC Volunteers are the BEST!
