Using Site

This site has been designed to maximize ease of use and information for its users. Below you can find information that will help you navigate through our site.

FUNCTIONALITY

The Oklahoma Medical Reserve Corps site has been optimized for best viewing with a screen resolution of 800X600 and larger. If your screen resolution is not set that high, various aspects of the page may not appear as they were designed. The site has been tested in all of the major browsers, including the most commonly used versions of Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera, Safari, and Netscape on the Windows and Macintosh platforms. Unfortunately, we are not able to support Web TV browsers.

You will need the latest version of Macromedia Flash Player installed on your computer to access some areas of our site, including the main graphic on the home page. Download this player at www.macromedia.com.

Our site has been tested to be Section 508 compliant, which means the entire site meets required federally mandated accessibility standards. Users who utilize electronic screen readers will be able to easily navigate this site. If you encounter a problem with accessibility, please contact the site administrator.

NAVIGATION

The main areas of our site are prominently featured across the top of the Web page. The menu items include: Overview of MRC; Disaster Preparedness; Volunteering; For Our Volunteers; and Administrative.

Also, you may return to the home page at any time by clicking on the Oklahoma Medical Reserve Corps icon at the top of the page.

Overview of MRC, Disaster Preparedness and Volunteering are all public areas of our site. You can access additional content related to these topics on the menu on the left side of these top-level pages. Additional menu links can be found at the bottom of the page.

PRIVATE SECTIONS

The For Our Volunteers and Administrative areas of the site are private sections reserved for people who have been approved as volunteers and those who serve as the administrators of the site.

To use these two areas of the site, you will need a password and username. Volunteers will select a username and password when they complete the registration form and administrators will be assigned a username and password. You will also need to make sure your browser setting enables cookies.

Features within the secure volunteer area of the site require Adobe Acrobat Reader. Download this player at www.adobe.com.

In the For Our Volunteers section, users are greeted by their names. Any information specifically directed to the user will be displayed on the lower right side of the page. You will also be able to access an Edit Profile area where you can review the information you have submitted about yourself and change or update any information. On the left side of the page you will see any Situation Updates.

You can access the News and Information area of the site and the Communication Center, which includes a full-featured Message Board, and Training.

Administrators will be trained on the specific areas of the site to which they have access.
