Background Checks

The Oklahoma State Department of Health requires that all OKMRC volunteers undergo a comprehensive background and criminal history investigation.  The OKMRC program attempts to process applications within 30 days of an applicant completing the OKMRC orientation.  A volunteer's background and criminal history will be reviewed every five years.  The OKMRC Background Review Committee has approved specific guidelines for admission to the program.  When a background investigation identifies a volunteer with a criminal conviction, their application may be excluded.  Volunteers are required to notify the OKMRC program office of any change in criminal history.  The OKMRC reserves the right to randomly examine a volunteer's background and criminal history at any time, as well as re-verify credentials and licensure.  Complete guidelines and protocol for the OKMRC Background Review Committee and policy regarding the approval/denial of an applicant or volunteer based upon criminal history can be found in the OKMRC Background Check Approval/Denial Policy.
