Psychological First Aid is the "acute intervention of choice" when responding to the psychosocial needs of children, adults, and families affected by disaster and terrorism. Developed by the National Child Traumatic Stress Network and the National Center for PTSD, with contributions from other individuals involved in coordinating and participating in disaster response, Psychological First Aid is designed to reduce the initial distress caused by traumatic events and to foster short- and long-term adaptive functioning and coping.

Additional Information:

Registration will be from 0830 to 0900.  Training will begin at 0900.  Lunch will be on your own from 12 - 1 pm.

You may enter the building using the door on the right. Signs will be posted to help you locate the room.

Parking is free. 

This training is approved for continuing education for nurses.  This training is provided by an Oklahoma State entity and should meet the LPC continuing education requirements. This training meets the continuing education requirements for Clinical Psychologists. 

This offering has been approved for 6 contact hours by OU Medicine, Inc.  OU Medicine, Inc. is accredited with distinction as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
