Description:
Trauma Scene Medical & Psychological First Aid: Skills for the Initial Trauma Scene Help Provider The goal of this course is to prepare the OKMRC volunteer with the basic skills needed to immediately respond at a trauma scene during a disaster or crisis so that you can confidently provide initial trauma scene medical and psychological assistance until first responders arrive. Thus you will be trained as an Initial Trauma Scene Help Provider and be introduced to trauma scene medical and psychological first aid techniques as denoted in the mnemonic RAPID MARCH. RAPID which stands for Rapport, Assessment, Prioritization, Intervention, Disposition; and MARCH which stands for Massive Hemorrhage, Airway Control, Reparatory Support, Circulation, Hypothermia, and Head Injury. (This course contains graphic images and audio files from real events that may be disturbing to some.)
