Description:
This training equips participants with the ability to identify and utilize suitable resources for supporting children and teens in crisis, while also providing an overview of the prevalent mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders affecting this demographic in society. Furthermore, learners will gain insights into expected social and emotional behaviors of children and teens along the stress continuum model, enabling them to recognize signs of potential mental health disorders and determine when professional help is necessary. Additionally, the training explores the impact of adverse childhood events and emphasizes the importance of implementing positive childhood events for fostering better mental well-being.

Target Audience: The target group in each community consists of the Local Community Social Support Networks, including local public health and mental health systems, faith leaders, law enforcement and fire responders, and Medical Reserve Corps Unit leaders and volunteers.

Free continuing education credits are provided for this training for RNs, CLEET, LPC/LMFT and social workers.
