Additional information: Intro to Emergency Communications covers technologies and processes used during emergency responses. The focus will be on Amateur Radio (Ham Radio) and will include approximately 45 min of classroom instruction and 30 min of a hands-on tour of the Tulsa Amateur Radio Club emergency communications trailer in the parking lot.

Topics: local vs regional communications, why we prepare for emergency communications, modes of communication: voice/morse code/digital, working with FEMA and local agencies, tour of the communications trailer. We will also have information on how to get your Amateur Radio license.
