Legal Aid Services of Oklahoma's lunch and learn presentation will share knowledge that can benefit you as an OKMRC volunteer when responding and also in your personal life.  During the lunch hour, they will cover "Before a Disaster Strikes: Legal Tips to Help Your Disaster Recovery" and "FEMA Basics". 

Before A Disaster Strikes: Legal Tips to Help Your Disaster Recovery
In this presentation, you will learn how to protect yourself before a disaster strikes. Many times, Oklahomans are faced with legal barriers that delay their disaster recovery. The Legal Aid Services of Oklahoma’s Disaster Team has put together tips to help hasten your recovery from a disaster event. Topics covered in this presentation include important documents, insurance, contractors, and title issues. This presentation is up to half an hour in length and will be presented by one of our trained disaster professionals.

FEMA Basics
In this presentation, you will learn about the importance of FEMA in disaster recovery. Highlighted information will include applying for FEMA, the reasons to apply even when you have insurance, FEMA appeal processes, and FEMA recoupment prevention tips.
