OK County: Summer Hygiene Drive

Jul 20 2023

From now until July 20, we are hosting a Hygiene Drive to support unhoused people in our community! All items will go to The Homeless Alliance, a nonprofit that aims to end long-term homelessness in OKC. During last year's Summer Hygiene Drive, OCCHD employees and OKMRC volunteers donated over 1,000 items - thank you!!! This summer, some of the biggest needs are: travel size deodorant, lotion, foot powder, hand sanitizer, tissue packs, as well as any size of shampoo, conditioner, body wash, 3-in-1 wash, insect repellant, sunscreen, razors, lip balm, bandages (larger size preferred), sterile gauze pads, tape, and combs. All items must be new. Please note, a representative from the Homeless Alliance said they tend to get a lot of donated products meant for straight hair, but few for curly and Black hair.

Items can be dropped off Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM at the following Oklahoma City-County Health Department locations: North campus (2600 NE 63rd St), South (4200 Leonhardt Dr), West (4330 NW 10th Street), WIC Shepherd (2401 NW 23rd St),
Sequoyah (2400 NW 36th).
