Tulsa County Blood at the Roots Conference AssistanceApr 11 2024Be Well Community Development Corporation, in partnership with Tulsa Health Department, is hosting its 2nd annual Blood at the Roots Issues of Health Equity: The New Civil Rights Movement Conference. This two-day event is scheduled for April 11-12 in OSU – Tulsa. The conference title is a nod to the Abel Meeropol poem, “Strange Fruit,” made famous by Billie Holiday and Nina Simone. The conference will feature local and national experts in the fields of health equity and social justice to assist attendees with developing strategies to strengthen efforts to create sustained change in their communities.
All volunteers will be provided with a free t-shirt, access to attend sessions, and breakfast & lunch! All volunteers must attend a training session before the conference. We will offer the training both virtually and in person. Dates TBA. Various dates, times, and positions available.
