OK County: Test Kit Assembly at Warehouse

Mar 27 2024

OKMRC volunteers are needed to assemble fentanyl test strip kits at the OSDH warehouse in west OKC. Wednesday, April 10 and Monday, April 11 have just been added and need volunteers. This is an easy opportunity to help out while seated in an indoor, temperature controlled space.   Please read the important information about Opioids in Oklahoma below:

Did you know?

From 2019 to 2022, the number of fentanyl overdose deaths increased 12-fold in Oklahoma, from 50 in 2019 to 609 in 2022.  People who use drugs are often unaware that substances might be laced with fentanyl, so these test kits are used as a harm reduction strategy to prevent overdoses. OSDH starting distributing fentanyl test strip kits last summer and have sent about 75,000 so far to all types of organizations around the state- County Health Departments, harm reduction programs, community based organizations, businesses, bars, clubs, universities, shelters, etc. Learn more here: https://oklahoma.gov/health/health-education/injury-prevention-service/drug-overdose/opioid-overdose/fentanyl.html

If you know of any organizations that could use or distribute fentanyl test strip kits, they can be requested for free by e-mailing injury@health.ok.gov.
