University of Oklahoma Football Game

The University of Oklahoma Athletics had requested MRC assistance for the first 3 Home Games of the Season due to the typical heat related risks associated with this time of year.  We did provide a hydration and first aid station for the August 30th game.  We did not support the September 6th game due to unseasonably cool weather with highs in the mid 70’s.  It appears that temperatures and heat index should be near or into the 90’s.  MRC will be providing some level of a Cooling, Hydration, and Basic First Aid Station on September 20th. We are requesting 4 non-medical volunteers to assist Friday, September 19th, with the Setup of the Station. We will meet at 4 pm at the site of the Tent west of the Fieldhouse and North of the Brooks Walkway North of the Stadium.  Shouldn’t take more than 2 hours to set things up.  We will have two 4-hour shifts on game day September 20th, 9 am to 1 pm and 1pm to 5 pm.  We will be tearing down the equipment at the kickoff of the second half and storing it in a trailer next to our setup to be picked up the next day.  We should be done ahead of 5pm.  We should have you headed out of there before the game is over.  We are requesting 3 Medical to run the First Aid and 4 Non-Medical to oversee the tent and maintain the water station.  We will be providing support to EMSSTAT outside of the stadium.  Parking will be provided in the field west of Fire Station #3 and OU PD, 2775 Monitor Ave, Norman, OK 73072.  Parking directions will be provided before game day, but you should plan on being in the parking area 15 minutes prior to your shift and we will get you golf carted in out of our hydration station.  Wear your MRC T-Shirt, but accent it with any supportive OU gear you have and come join and support this festive atmosphere  You can contact David Grizzle - 405-245-9522 or david.grizzle@normanok.gov if you have any questions.  Day of POC’s will be Steven Wood at 405-200-8170 and Riley Worley at 918-695-2655.  I have attached a picture with a Cooling Tent Box indicating where the station is North of the Stadium.
