POD Operations Training in Lawton

Imagine this Scenario: A biological agent has been released at a football game in Lawton, where thousands of people from Comanche County and other surrounding counties attended. People that have been infected are unaware. Some commute home to cities throughout southwest Oklahoma. Within 24-hours people have already become ill and overwhelm the area hospitals. In response to the emergency that is now reported in other counties the governor has declared a National Emergency. Within two days, the affected population needs immediate medication.

If this ocurred, a Point of Dispensing Operations (POD Ops) would be activated.

The Comanche County Health Department invites you to participate in POD Ops training scheduled for Friday October 26th. If interested, you have your choice of a morning session from 9-11:30 am or an afternoon session from 1:30-4 pm. The training will provide an overview of operations within the POD and provides a fun, hands-on training as we practice dispensing and receiving medications!

The trianing will be conducted at the Comanche County Health Department, 1010 South sheridan in Lawton.  If you would like to attend, please call/text Rebecca at 580-682-1572 or email rebeccaw@health.ok.gov

Hope to see you!
